Yes, I'm a bad, bad blogger. It's been a while. Forgive me.
Since last time...
After a long (for me) break from acting, I recently finished a run of
A Christmas Carol at the Haymarket Theatre here in Lincoln. I played Marley and X-mas Future in a wonderfully entertaining
Bob Hall directed production. Rave reviews. Audience acclaim. If you weren't there, you should of been. Shame on you.
Up next for me onstage will be
How I learned to Drive in the Howell Theatre at the
University of Nebraska - Lincoln. My second chance at playing Uncle Peck. Great cast. Great director. A stage I've never been on before. I'm excited. Come see it.
And last, but certainly not least... I'll be in New York at the end of January doing my thing for all the MFA recruiters. Wish me broken bones. I'll let you know how it goes.
Happy New Year!

Just a brief note to any of you wondering whether my work is published:
Disturbed and
Tangled Up In Blue are currently under consideration for publication by
Playscripts Inc. If you'd like to buy a copy or need the work to be published in order to use it for competitions, please contact them and ask about it politely (click on their name above). The higher the demand, the better my chances.
Daphne's monologue from "Disturbed" is published in
Milennium Monologs from
Meriwether Press, edited by Gerald Ratliff. You can get it through their website (again... click on the name).
Thanks to all who enjoy and use my work for auditions, competitions, classes, etc... It's always great to hear from you.
Keep writing!

Well, I can tell that the new school year has begun. Every year at about this time the number of visitors to my site suddenly explodes with last minute monologue hunters. So, to all of you who are using my monologues for auditions:
BREAK A LEG!!Mail me and let me know how it goes for you.
As for myself,
Oleanna's done and I've got free evenings for the first time in about a year. Just in time to start compiling lists of good MFA programs to apply to. If anyone out there knows of a great program I should look at, let me know. By this time next year I hope to be somewhere else learning new and wonderful things.
Merry Labor Day!

Sorry... it's been a while.
Well,
Footloose! has completed its run to great acclaim and an unbroken string of sold out standing ovations. Tons o' fun, but I'm really glad I never have to sing those songs again. I gotta say it's sad to lose Rob as the LCP artistic director, but I'm glad I got to help end his tenure on such a positive, successful note.
We miss you already Rob!Next up for me is David Mamet's
Oleanna opening
Thursday, August 21 and running through
Sunday, August 24 at the
Haymarket Theatre here in Lincoln. It's the first production of the brand new
Murmur Theater Company, directed by artistic director Jeff Little.
This is a fantastic script by one of the best playwrights ever to pick up a pen. It'll make you think, it'll make you mad, it'll make you wanna go to a bar or coffee shop afterward and argue. And isn't that what theatre is all about?
This is a show that I've wanted to do for years, and to get the chance to do it with my good friend, and one of the best actors I know, Kelli Chaves, makes it even more special. Please come see it and let me know what you think. I'll even come argue with you about it afterward if you want.
One weekend of performances only!Dates are:
Thursday, August 21 at 8pm
Friday, August 22 at 8pm
Saturday, August 23 at 2pm and 8pm
Sunday, August 24 at 2pmat the Haymarket Theatre: 803 Q St.
Tickets - $10 (Students $6)
