                                   KELLI
            Sometimes I wish my dad was in a war, and got injured.  Just
            a little bit injured.
                          (pause)
            That sounds bad.
                          (pause)
            I mean, obviously I don't really wish he'd been injured in a
            war.  He's my dad.  I love him.  But...  There's this really
            great school, you know?  And it's in another state, and it's
            really expensive to begin with, and I just know we can't
            afford it, but if...  I mean, OK, that sounds selfish, but... 
            I read this story once, right?  Or maybe somebody told it to
            me, or...
                          (thinks about it)
            Or maybe it was a movie or something, I don't remember.  But
            anyway, it was this really cool story about this guy, and he
            lived in this, like, really-really oppressive country or
            something.  Or maybe it was, like... Alabama...  I don't
            know.  But everyone there was, like...  They couldn't do what
            they wanted, you know, because of, like, religious laws or
            something, and they were all really poor and they were always
            at war with someone, and...  OK, so I guess it wasn't
            Alabama.  But it was some country or something, or...
                          (thinks)
            ...a planet.  yeah, maybe it was a planet.  Maybe they were
            in space.  Or under water?
                          (thinks)
            I don't really like sci-fi, you know?  So...  I don't know. 
            But anyway, the point is there was this guy...  Right?
                          (pause)
            Ummm...
                          (pause)
            Oh yeah!  So, this guy, he gets fed up with all the poor
            people and with the wars and...  I mean, you know, not fed up
            with the people themselves, but with the fact that they were
            all poor and that they were all dying in wars, 'cause... 
            Well, obviously...  But the KING, or... or governor or
            something...  the leaders, you know, of this place, the
            leaders wouldn't listen.  So this guy, he puts on a show! 
            And this show...  I mean, you know, it took, like, a thousand
            years or something really, but the show started it...  This
            show changed everything and everything got better!  You know? 
            All because of this actor guy and this show that he did.
                          (pause.  then, realizing the
                           audience didn't get the
                           point.)
            ...and this school, it's a theatre school.  For acting.
                          (pause)
            I'm an actress.  Did I mention that?
                          (pause)
            Anyway, if I could do that, I think it would be worth losing,
            like, a foot or something in a war, don't you?  I mean, if he
            weren't my dad.
